A month of giving and thanks

November was an unbelievable month for us. Rikk was getting food and money donations from stores throughout Fairbanks to help out needy families on the base and at the food bank. Hunter had gone along with him to a few places and got bit by the bug...the giving bug. Hunter's school was having a food drive and he wanted to bring in as many cans as he could. Seeing Hunter get excited about this Walker also got bit by the giving bug. He asked if his school could have a food drive. So Rikk went in and talked to them and they thought it was a wonderful idea.

Rikk and his buddy Curtis brought in the most food (700 cans/boxes) and raised the most money($1400) on base. (Sorry the pic is blurry, but I took it with my phone holding a baby)

Hunter brought in 300 cans to his class and his class won a pizza party, he was so happy. He got some from home, Nana and Papa and from the stores he went to with Rikk.

Walker's class brought in 69 cans in one week and he was just thrilled. He also got some from home and Nana and Papa.
Rikk is such a great example for our boys. I am so glad that he is their dad and they can learn from him. The boys totally loved raising food for people that needed it and can't wait to do it again next year.
