Boy will be boys!!!

I went out and got the mail today and came back inside and set it on the lower half of the entertainment center for the kids to fight over as I always do. They kids came running over and started to fight over who gets to open what junk mail as usual. I went to the bathroom and came out to hear little muffled giggles...you know, the kind where someone or two someones are doing something they shouldn't be. Well, I came out to the living room and this is what I found...

The first one they didn't even know I took and the second one is the realization that they had been caught and knew they were being bad. Walker looks up and says, "Mom, I see boobies!" It's not even a magazine that I get, it's from the previous owner. I threw it away and they kept getting it out of the garbage, so it had to go out to the trash cans on the back porch. I have heard of boys sneaking their mom's Victoria's Secret before, but at this age?!!!

Easter Day!!!

Today was Easter (as I am sure you all know) and the boys were soo excited to see that the Easter Bunny had come while we were at church. They enjoyed their baskets and going to Nana and Papa's for dinner. They got to decorate plastic eggs (I imagined where dye would end up and decided this was best) with Easter stickers and have an egg hunt. It was just one that continued for about 45 minutes. As they were finding them, they were also hiding them! Then we got to play with Nana and Papa with play-doh and they had a ball. On the way home Walker said, "This was the best day EVER!!!"

Rubadubdub three boys in a tub!!!

The boys LOVE to take baths, especially bubble baths...thanks for the bubbles Flemons! They were having soo much fun last night I decided to take a couple pics. And don't worry, everything is covered by bubbles!!

Stop and smell the tulips!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a great day (other then going to the dentist, more on that at a later date). First, I just want to say thank you to all of you who called, emailed, or stopped by to wish me a happy birthday. Rikk sent me some very beautiful tulips with a lovely card and a balloon for the boys. My parents gave me a very beautiful card that brought tears to my eyes. And Dahlia and Martie both gave me beautiful tulips too. The boys had picked out cupcakes and as you can see in the pictures, they enjoyed eating them. The only way my birthday could have been better is if Rikk had been home to share it with us.

"Snack Stealer"

Well, it's official...Kyler has been named "Snack Stealer" in nursery!!! I knew that he has tried to steal little Madeline O'Neil's snacks one Sunday, but I guess it is every Sunday he is trying to steal someone's snack. One of the nursery ladies told me today (while laughing) that when they sit down for snack time, Kyler tries to steal a snack from the left and a snack from the right. Sometimes he is successful and sometimes a child doesn't let it fly!! Not bad you are thinking, that's normal. The bad/funny part is when snack time is over and ALL the other kids are down playing with toys, he is going around the table and finishing up EVERY snack that all the other kids have left behind!!! For those of you that know him, you are laughing and probably thinking, "That's Kyler!" and it really is. He does the same thing at home. I decided to put up some pictures of him "stealing" foods, snacks and drinks that don't belong to him...and believe me there are plenty more that I didn't post. Hope you get a good laugh!

This started as Walker's breakfast!
He somehow got this off the table and the smile isn't just because it's good!

Another drink that isn't his!

Once again, not his candy!

Didn't start out as his, but ended up as so!

Miracle Baby Turned 2!!!

Well yesterday the not so little guy turned two! That's right, Kyleris officially a "BIG BOY" and not a baby anymore. He got to have a sprinkled donut for breakfast and went around singing "HappyBirthday" to himself all day! We had a birthday party last night for him with the family and some close friends. The kiddos had a great time playing together and "helping" open presents. We are soo glad that Kyler is here with us. With everything that happened in the beginning, plus colds and pneumonia, there have been more than a couple times when we thought he wouldn't make it at all, let alone to two. But he has and he is happy and healthy and just a joy to be around. He definitely adds soo much to our family and we couldn't image ours without him. We missed Rikk and his cake, but the store bought one was good too. Rikk told me to put a pic of him next to Kyler with a party hat on it, so I did! He said he was going to be apart of it one way or another.

I have put up quite a few photos from Kyler's birth until now. The website http://www.thestatus.com/ still has all his info from his RSV stay. If you would like to see what the little guy went through, just click on "Visit a Patient's Page" and then type in "matteson" for patient's name and "littleman1" for password. You can read what we went through with Kyler and the messages that family and friends left us.

Happy Birthday Kyler!!! Mommy, Daddy, Hunter, and Walker love you BIG much!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

My Dad and Mom
They are such a beautiful couple!

My Dad and Walker
(they even match!!!)

My Dad and Kyler
Special buddies from the start,
my Dad was the very first person Kyler met, even before me!

Today is my Dad's birthday and I just wanted to say "Happy Birthday Dad!" I am very grateful to have a dad like him, I couldn't have asked Heavenly Father for a better one. He has been there when I needed him when I was little and now that I am older. Whether it be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or someone to make me laugh. He (and my mom) has helped me and my family in ways that I can never show enough appreciation for. Thank you! I love you Dad!!!

Love,
Dawn

Words from Iraq...

I got this email from Rikk this morning and thought you all might like to know how he is doing. Oh, Spongebob is in the picture for the boys. Rikk takes pics with him everywhere he goes this deployment. Sorry this picture of him is soo small, I had to copy it and this was as big as I could get it.

Hey Sorry I was not there last night we were out at a function that the AirForce was having. American (Ali) Idol, there were a couple of firefighters in the group so we were out there to support them. It was a very bad time. It was more like the auditions on TV. Not one of them could sing, my ears were bleeding after! Sorry I missed the boys' call. I really would have liked to talk with them last night.
I am staying busy here, I am getting ready to take over the station captian's job in the next week. That will give me a lot more to do while were are on duty. That and it will give me a better chance of getting a medal out of here, which is always good for promotion testing. Other than that life is ok. Just trying to get into a routine for the next few months. I hope that I will have orders by the end of next week that way we can start getting prepared. If not then by the 15th. And if all of those (overseas) come back with a no, we will find out probably in June where our next base is going to be.
Hug and kiss the boys. I love you all!
Rikk
