With us going to Anchorage for more than likely at least 4 months, we were wondering what we (Rikk) was going to do with the boys to keep them entertained. We know of a couple things to do and places to go, but we also need some input.
Sooooo, anyone who knows of ANYTHING that would be fun, entertaining or educational for the boys in Anchorage please let us know.
Also, we are still willing to hear ANY and ALL suggestions of boys' names ending in "er" so that hopefully we can come up with some actual names for these two kiddos...or I just may be really stuck with Phinneaus and Ferb!!!

They have a childrens museum downtown, my kids really liked it. Its all hands on, which works really well with kids!

Tucker, Tyler, Tanner.... that's what I can think of. I hear there's a really great indoor pool/waterpark in Anchorage. Good luck!!!
You can get a military discount on tickets to H2Oasis (water park)on the base...There's the Imaginarium on 5th ave (next to the Glacier Brewhouse - yummy yum yum)which I think the boys would LOVE all the hands-on science stuff. And a bit of a drive south is Portage Glacier and even Whittier (where you drive through a train tunnel to get to). Those would be nice weather outings. And I'm sure there are a ton of playgrounds/parks/trails for them to visit...You'll have to let us know what you fill their days with as I'll be needing things to do there this summer too :)
And I still like Bridger and Thatcher :) love you guys!
Xavier, Asher, Zander, Osker, Palmer, Ryder, Ryker, Sawyer, Skipper, Spencer, Trever, Booker, Chandler, Fletcher, Homer, Jasper
Thats all I got!
Oh, I like Katie's idea for "Sawyer" too!
And don't forget to check out the library in Anchorage - a bigger city may mean there are more options for the kiddos' programs! :)
dawn, while you are stuck on bed rest, are you a reader? i will gladly send you the absolute best parenting book that i have read (and i have read quite a few). it is called Christlike Parenting and i'll get your address from your mom if you would like to read it. if you are not a reader, well, my favorite movie is sense and sensibility! hope you are doing well.
Yes Sis. Hirt I am a reader and would love to read that book. You can just send it to my mom's address since we are expecting to leave here for Anchorage at any time. Thank you so much!
Check out the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. It is about a 45 min drive south, a little past Girdwood, close to the turn off to Portage Glacier. We loved it b/c you get pretty close to the animals in such a natural setting. We liked the Anchorage Zoo as well. Seward is more like a 2 hour drive but they have a cool Alaska SeaLife Center and just before that is Exit Glacier.
I think Tanner and Trevor would be a cute combo for boy twins.
We now have a bouncing bears in Anchorage about five minutes away from the hospital. I know the boys loved it the last time they were here. They have the address on their website. Hope that helps.
